The Macomb County Health Department's Immunization clinic provides vaccines - on a walk-in basis - to protect children and adults from vaccine preventable diseases: DIPHTHERIA, PERTUSSIS, TETANUS, POLIO, MEASLES, MUMPS, RUBELLA, HAEMOPHILUS INFLUENZAE TYPE B, HEPATITIS B, VARICELLA, INFLUENZA, & PNEUMOCOCCAL DISEASE.

Neighbors Caring for Neighbors Clinics

For Macomb residents with no health insurance (including Medicaid deductible, Medicare, and Macomb Care Connect) and annual income below $30,000. Charges are based on ability to pay (a partial fee for labs most often applies).Appointments preferred. Wait times can be extensive. Medical services are provided by Nurse Practitioners treat both acute illnesses and chronic conditions, including exams, lab tests, X-rays, referrals, writing prescriptions, & limited help with medications.

  • Macomb Care Connect

    Free medical coverage is available for qualified, low-income Macomb County residents. Services provided are physician visits, lab & X-rays, prescriptions, and urgent care. As a prerequisite, denial of Medicaid or AMP from DHS is needed. The income limit is &800/$1070, but it is applied after deductions and expenses.

    Walmart, Sam's Club, Target

    Will provide up to a 30 day supply of generic drugs on the current list of covered drugs for $4 per prescription fill or refill.


    Will fill for free any prescription for prenatal vitamins and/or for 7 oral generic antibiotics (often prescribed for children): Amoxicillin, Cephalexin, SMZ-TMP, Ciprofloxacin, Ampicillin, Penicillin VK, & Erythromycin. They will bill your insurance, but there is no co-pay, and if you have no insurance, the Rx is free. Contact your local Meijer Pharmacy.

    Macomb Prescription Program

    For all Macomb County residents and their dependents who have no prescription coverage, and who enroll and receive a card. Helps by giving discounts on retail prices to individuals. Call (586) 469-6313 for more information.

  • MCCSA Action Centers

    Will use emergency funds to assist with prescription costs for Macomb COunty residetns in their service area who have no other coverage, also for items not covered by Medicaid.

    World Medical Relief

    For persons in Wayne, Oakland, & Macomb Counties age 18 and odler who do not have prescription drug coverage and monthly income is below $1583 per month (single) or $2583 (couple) and not currently enrolled in Medicaid. There is an $8.30 co-pay per Rx. Call (313) 866-5333 for more information.

    Provides comprehensive eye exams and care for up to 1 year, often at no out-of-pocket expense to eligible callrers through its seniors and Diabetes EyeCare Programs. Call 1-800-222-3937 for more information

    Mission Cataract USA

    Provides free cataract surgery to people of all ages who have no means to pay. Surgeries are scheduled annually on one day, usually in May. Call 1-800-343-7265 for more information.

    Knights Templar Eye Foundation

    Provides assistance for eye surgery for people who are unable to pay or receive adequate assistance from current government agencies or similar sources. Call 1-847-490-3838 for more information.


    Provides a free comprehensive infacnt eye assessemtn to children younger than one year for early detection of eye condtions in babies. Call 1-888-396-3937 for more information.


    Sight for Students

    Provides eye exams and glasses to children 18 years and younger whose families cannot afford vision care. Call 1-888-290-4964 for more information.

    New Eyes for the Needy

    Dental Programs

    Macomb County Health Department of Warren Dental Clinic

    Provides a full range of high quality dental services for low income, Medicaid eligible, or Adult Medical Program eligible Macomb residents age 3 to adult who don't have dental insurance. A very reasonable fee is charged. Call (586) 465-9152 for an appointment.

    Tri-County Dental Health Council

    Provides information and referral to dentists who accept Medicaid and to dental services for low-income persons in Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb Counties. Call (248) 559-7767 for more information.

    Donated Dental Services

    Arranges for donated dental care for low-income elderly and disabled on a one time basis. There is a waiting list. Qualified individuals are treated at no cost; however, people who can pay for part of their care may be encouraged to do so, especially when lab work is involved.     University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry

    Offers dental treatment to individuals accepted into the Student Clinical Program for around half of the cost of private dentists. Program accepts most insurance plans, including Medicaid. Dental services are also provided for medicaly compromised patients at the University Health Center in Detroit Receiving Hospital. Call for more information.
